Quinten's past has always been foggy, however the one thing he has plagued him. Of all the things he never met his biological parents, always been in his God Parent's home. He was sent to the most prestigious schools because of his genius level intellect. When he joined Xavier's School for Gifted he was Emma Frost's and Xavier's prized student. He committed many hijinks, started riots and became an addict of Kick, triggering his secondary mutation. This all happened when his universe Sophie Cuckoo died.
Many years later the Phoenix came back, hoping to rejoin with the body of Jean Grey Summers, however the body was incinerated leaving it nowhere to come back to and sought out a new host. When it passed, the cosmic force reignited Quinten's form, from psionic plasma to flesh once more and activated his other psionic powers, like telekinesis. In a bid to revive Sophie while he held a portion, albeit a minute one back to the living he had succeeded but the hate she felt came to will her back to a rotting corpse. He did face the X-men united even in his lack of use with telekinesis, he did manage to freeze the mansion and it occupants for a while with his mind. He held the X-men at bay too, proving even with the newly minted telekinesis he was a match for all of them single handed.
Wolverine did not see him try and kill anyone, just hold them at bay. Cyclops infuriated at this deemed that he was a menace and had him placed back into stasis. Kade Kilgore released him knowing he'd act out once more and thus he did, in only the grand scale he was known for after the riot at Xavier's. This was at the point where Cyclops and Wolverine seperated the house of Xavier in half. One at Utopia and the other at Jean grey School for Higher Learning. Beast took Quinten to the school where he has caused a riot, Wolverine was set to keep him in stasis for all time. After a lengthy talk between Steve Rogers and Logan he was given a chance and placed under house arrest.
Many years of house arrest caused him to be more in check and Logan essentially made him see his point. He had many adventures, competed in the first interplanetary Institutional Games, where each of the facilities across the globe elected a team to respresent them after the fallout of Scott killing Xavier, a gesture of unity for the world to see. After that he was allowed a lesser degree of house arrest, more freedom and used it well by doing satelite programs at MIT and Harvard, which were conventiently close to the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. Upon complete courses, and doing favors for Logan and Hank he seemed to disappear.
He came to become an Exile, when another of his alternative selves had perrished he was summoned to replace them and merged with that alternate version of him concious. The merging of minds, not powers had him weirded out. He eventually lead a team of young mutants and had many adventures, even running to an alternate version of Sophie Cuckoo still alive. When a wave of energy, an omniversal tsunami came and washed all the exiled else where. Where he landed in the nexusverse and became a member of the MVA.
Over the time he spent there he worked with Tony Stark, believing him to be a "pompous tool" he was greatly wrong and his views changed. He had switched from Outpost 31 to the Main branch. After his many adventures there, he was shunted back to his home dimension to see Sophie, alive and well taking her place amongst the mutants fighting a war.
When the war began, Red Skull aka Johan Smidt took Xavier's mind from his corpse and became the Red Onslaught. His crusade against mutant kind came and accelerated the turmoil, the world changed and mutants which were now abundant and renewed as a species came and flourished under Johan's cruel iron grip. The war raged, it was the X-men left to stand, both houses were united. At the end of the war, the turning point he wasted no time and in a impromptu wedding Sophie and he were married. Fighting side by side. They fought hard and turned the tide, when Sophie ws targeted by a psionic virus. She died several weeks later as he and the others tried to make their world better.
After the death of his wife, he was lost and left the world in a remote range of mountains in Peru. Then when found a ledge, he jumped but he was safe and whole on the bottom ledge. The Phoenix came and spoke, offering him a chance to prove a new perspective one Jean and Hope never offered. Quinten was bereft and in awe he was chosen. But he was still set to join Sophie in the afterlife.
The cosmic entity had explained itself, on one occasion it was showing empathy. After hearing and seeing what it offered and it joined with him. The being explained it's failed trust in what Hope did.It was several years of war, then Wolverine had formulated a plan and Magneto corroborated on finding a mutant, Rachel Summers offered her talents but they needed to get rid of Red Skull as he occupied the mind of Xavier. The groups of freedom fighters were on their way to Red Skull's newest camp for mutants, he was ready but Magneto began the liberation. When the camps were evacuated it was an epic free for all, the Red Skull's mutant henchmen control engaged the small team while Clarice and Quinten began working on their plan.
He asked the Phoenix for aid and when the whole thing was done, Magneto and Cyclop's won the day. When Clarice's spike charged with her energy hit reality he used the Phoenix Force to open the point where they could turn the war away from massacre and savagery. When they stepped through he was ripped in time and reemerged in the Nexus universe outside the compound engulfed in temporal flames, before they extinguished his eyes opened, he was back for some reason.
In a small adventure, he and the other X-men went back in time, to stop the Brotherhood from their era to change the past and alter the future. There he connected briefly to his old self and answered one question before he left.
When he tried to return with the other X men he landed back to the Nexusverse and outpost, where he is having new adventures.
